A Bizarre Tale of the Corporatized University: The Dismissal of University of Virginia President Teresa Sullivan

Here’s a recent Slate story on the dismissal of University of Virginia President, Teresa Sullivan, whose main failure seems to have been failing to abandon the institution’s educational mission for corporate notions of bottom lines and “strategic dynamism.”  The story has frightening implications for the governance of public universities but then there is an email “leak” (sound familiar?) and the plot thickens into a slightly happier ending.
