Even with the best will in the world and the best people in the world, it is inevitable that the thinking of university administrators and of the politicians to whom they are partially answerable will sometimes diverge from those of the faculty. I believe therefore that it is important to have an organization which can coherently and effectively represent the collective opinion of the faculty vis-à-vis the higher administration, and for this reason I support the organizing efforts of the Campus Faculty Association.
