A faculty union is one of the best forms of solidarity we can have with our fellow faculty and staff at the university. It also seems the most effective way to ensure that the university maintains its educational and research-driven mission in the arts, humanities and sciences in an accessible and public manner. I think the future of all public institutions will depend on the organized efforts of public servants.
