Nick Yelverton, a pensions expert from the Illinois Federation of Teachers, will speak at UIUC on Tuesday, October 16 at 4 p.m. at the University YMCA, 1001 S. Wright St. He will highlight the threat to the constitutional guarantees for our pensions embodied in Amendment 49, a measure to be voted on in the November elections. Nick Yelverton is a legislative director for the Illinois Federation of Teachers. He is in charge of monitoring and developing legislation in the area of pensions and higher education for the 103,000 member union. He has more than 18 years of experience in the area of government relations, including nine years as legislative liaison at the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund. Mr Yelverton’s presentation at UIUC is sponsored by the Campus Faculty Association.
